*drum roll* I bring to you another DIY. How great is that? Do it yourself and you’re sure to know what’s in it. If you’ve read my What’s In My Spray Bottle? post you would have known that this is my main ingredient for moisturizing my hair. I’m aware of the benefits of Aloe Vera (see them here) and I’ve seen girls using aloe vera juice to moisturize their hair. I could not source aloe vera juice here in Jamaica so I researched how to make my own and that’s what I’ve been doing ever since.

DIY ⇒ Shampoo

Hey Queens! I introduce to you this DIY that has worked tremendously for my hair where moisture retention is concerned. Hope you love it and give it a try.


I discovered this DIY shampoo while researching about low porosity hair. Many LPH girls I watch on YouTube have used this DIY shampoo and have had great reviews. This shampoo is greatly used by LPH girls because it contains baking soda.  Baking soda has so many unique properties, it can also be used occasionally to “clarify” hair and eliminate buildup from commercial shampoos and conditioners. A little experimentation will show whether baking soda works for you as a regular method of hair care or as an occasional treatment.
