I’ve Noticed Softer Hair

Hey Queens! 👋

I am one to always wear my hair in mini twists. Here in Jamaica, we call them rope twists. Yesterday, I installed another head of rope twists and I noticed that my hair was as soft as ever than before. I was in awe.

I washed my hair on Thursday -the whole works of shampoo, deep condition, condition, apply a leave-in and then applied my black castor oil infused with argan oil mixed with coconut oil. This is the process I always used when washing my hair but I tweaked it a little. I wasn’t home by the way when I washed my hair. I was staying at my cousin’s house. Now, at his house he has a water heater.

Factual or Mythical Series: Split Ends Can Be Fixed With the Right Product

Myth. Women with naturally curly hair cannot condition their way to split end free hair.

Experts recommend that curlies “Deva cut” their hair every 6-8 weeks to remove split ends. Deva haircuts use a technique where dry, curly hair is shaped and then cut piece by piece, instead of straight across, to maintain your natural hair growth patterns and the natural shape of your curly hair. Along with regular, minor trims, be sure to moisturize hair well. Choose a deep conditioner that is best suited for your hair’s coarse and curly texture to achieve maximum hair growth.

Twist N’ Curl

Hey Queens! 👋

Back with another styling tutorial. I think I’ve fallen in love with a twist n’curl, and this a bond that will never break. *hehe* 🙂 One of my goals for this year was to try other styles on my hair, therefore I opted for the twist n’ curl.

It can be done in so many ways – twist your hair then add a perm rod to the ends or roll all the hair onto the perm rod. Which do you think is my preferred method? Let’s get into it.

DIY Aloe Vera Juice

Hey Queens! 👋

*drum roll* I bring to you another DIY. How great is that? Do it yourself and you’re sure to know what’s in it. If you’ve read my What’s In My Spray Bottle? post you would have known that this is my main ingredient for moisturizing my hair. I’m aware of the benefits of Aloe Vera (see them here) and I’ve seen girls using aloe vera juice to moisturize their hair. I could not source aloe vera juice here in Jamaica so I researched how to make my own and that’s what I’ve been doing ever since.
