Kinky Curly Coily Queen ⇔ Parris

Hey Queens! 👋🏽

It has been what? Two months or more? I am trying my best to keep up. Between school and my part-time job all I want to do is sleep, sleep and more sleep. Happy New Year guys! 🎆🎇✨🎊 I hope the new year started out well for you all. In my last post, I didn’t great y’all well. 😘 What have I been up to? Well, I have been trying to be a good nursing student, as well as, trying to ensure my monetary needs are met. When I am not doing that, I am formulating a business plan I want to initiate soon. I’ve been good and my mind has been on the blog heavily because it gives me peace and I enjoy doing it. Not to deter from the reason I am actually here but to bring to you a beautiful young lady that followed me on Instagram a few months back. Throughout those months I have liked her transition process. At the end of her transition process, I loved how full and bouncy her hair was. Therefore, I DMed her on Instagram and asked if she’d like to be featured on my blog. I think even though I may not have the time to document my natural hair’s progress I can at least bring inspiration from other natural haired girls. My ladies and gents (if you’re reading), meet Parris (such a beautiful name 😊).

Kinky Curly Coily Queen ⇔ Samantha

Hey Queens! 👋

Here’s another Kinky Curly Coily Queen for the month of March. I’ve admired her hair over the course of the years I’ve met her on facebook, as well as the few times I’ve seen her while I’m out. I wish I had the courage she had to just chop my hair off but I don’t. I admire her spirit –  people might think it’s weird, some might appreciate it or not but I am one who does appreciate it.

Hey Queens. I introduce to you another Queen for the month of February. Welcome little Sunny. I’ve known her from high school. She was in a higher grade than I am but now we attend the same University doing the same course – what were the odds? Nevertheless, I love her hair and thought it would be great to feature her on my blog.

Introduce yourself

Hi everyone! I’m Reneisha Stephenson: a Jesus lover, Jamaican, natural hair enthusiast, nursing student and nature lover.  I also love to dance, skate and read books.

Have you ever thought of perming your hair?

I have been natural since birth; my hair has never been permed or even flat ironed. Growing up I had a negative perception of my hair, I didn’t see it as pretty. In Jamaica, persons with curly or ‘mixed’ hair were the only ones  deemed as having ‘good’ or ‘pretty’ hair. So, since I am not mixed I didn’t see my hair that way. At one point I wanted my hair permed but I didn’t ask my mother about it because I knew I wouldn’t have been allowed to. Now, I’m so glad I didn’t get my hair permed! I have really grown to love my natural hair.
